So here u go og lengi lifi Pavement og sannir aðdáendur þeirra.

hæhæ, ég hef ekki komist í póstin svo lengi, gaman að sjá þetta, ánægður með þessi skrif þín :) þegar ég sá myndina af pavement þá tók ég eftir að Spiral Stairs (aka Scott Kannberg) var ekki á þessari mynd, en eins og þú veist þá stofnaði hann hljómsveitina ásamt söngvaranum stephen malkmus, ég skrifa hér nokkrar línur úr Pavement bókinni "Perfect Sound Forever" um af hverju hann var ekki á sumum myndum.

.......with their success, it was getting more difficult to follow the original, unwritten rules that the band had set out to follow. Basic rules such as no band pictures on the records,no major interviews, and the overall cultivation of as much obscure mythmaking as they could muster was all slipping away.

This hit Kannberg the hardest. He was the band member that wanted to keep the indie ideals more than anyone else "I always wanted Pavement to be mysterious" he says " when we started Crooked Rain there was alot of tension within the
band because i wanted us still to be like "don´t take pictures, don´t do interviews, so it got weird.

For Kannberg, things came to a head when Rolling Stone magazine approached the band to do a feature story. It wasn´t so much that he hated Rolling Stone though he did harbor less then warm feelings for the mag - it was more that he
didn´t want such a pillar of the musical establishment to dictate the terms to his band. Part of the deal for the feature was that the band had to take part in an organized photo shoot.

We were all like, we don´t want to do that "says Kannberg, we were like, give them a photo we already have. The response was no photo shoot, no feature story. I was like well fuck´em " he continues " we didn´t need rolling stone, Where were they for the last record?? I just voiced my opinion, but Stephen really wanted to do it and instead of fighting them i just said whatever. Then when it came time to do it i just said "i´m not going to do this, it was a few hours before.

I said, If you guys want to be in Rolling Stone then do it but i don´t want to be in Rolling Stone and i don´t want this band to be pushed around like this...........
